On October 18 at the 11:00 Traditional service, we'll present Bibles to our 3rd graders, and to any older kids who haven't received one from us yet!
Why a Bible? As United Methodists, we believe Scripture is the living Word through which God speaks to us. It's where we meet Jesus, learn who God is, and discover who we are called to be. John Wesley wanted every believer reading the Bible for themselves, not just hearing it secondhand. Third grade is when many kids are becoming confident readers, so it's the perfect time to put a Bible in their hands. When we baptize children, we promise to nurture them in faith, and this is one way we keep that promise. Please sign up so we have a Bible ready for your child.
