SUCCESSION TEAM UPDATE VIDEO #3
Hi and welcome to our third update from the Pastor Succession team. We have been quite busy, putting in hours of work on your behalf, especially over the last week or so.
The new year has seen us begin the interviewing phase and our team has been hard at work interviewing multiple candidates. We anticipate completing the first round of interviews by Thursday January 16. We can tell you that we have some incredible candidates to consider and we are in prayer that we arrive at the right candidate for Lovers Lane.
We are excited to be moving into the final phase of our process which narrows our list of candidates that we would like to meet with again. From there, we hope we are able to make a final recommendation to our Bishop Ruben Saenz. As a reminder, Bishop Saenz has asked that we complete our work by the end of January because Lovers Lane is such a prominent church. The appointment of our new pastor must be made before the Bishop and cabinet can consider making appointments to other churches. We are working hard to meet his request.
An important note to remember… the completion of our work to make a recommendation to the Bishop does not mean an appointment will be announced immediately. There are a number of considerations in an appointment to a church like ours and it could be a few weeks before a public announcement is made.
We know that everyone is anxious to know who our new senior pastor will be. We are too! But we ask for your prayers and patience as we work through the process. Our conversations impact prospective pastors and their families as well as the church, so we also ask for your understanding with appropriate confidentialities at this time.
