Wesley Rankin Community Center

Local Ministry Partner

In collaboration with their West Dallas neighbors, Wesley-Rankin Community Center identifies and bridges gaps in education, health and skills development by providing multigenerational programs that empower families to access their full potential.

Wesley-Rankin relies on dedicated, passionate volunteers to assist with homework and/or reading intervention in Afterschool (September-May) and to lead small groups/experiments in B3X (Beakers, Base 10 and the Beat) summer camp (June-July). In addition, we need support in our Adult Academy courses and senior citizen programming. Interested in becoming a part of the Wesley-Rankin family?

Lovers Lane UMC partners with Wesley-Rankin through school supply drives, food distribution and in other ways throughout the year. Learn more about how you can connect directly with the Wesley-Rankin Community Center.

B3X Summer Camp

Wesley-Rankin needs volunteers for the B3X Summer Camp. B3X is a STEAM-based camp that aims to provide 200 West Dallas students with individualized and hands-on learning experiences in science, math, reading, and art. Volunteers are needed to support classroom instruction, lead small group activities, chaperone field trips, or offer specialty clubs. B3X volunteers are integral to providing students with individualization and quality time. Camp will be from June 12th-July 27th, Monday-Thursday, 9 AM-3 PM. We have volunteer shifts in the morning from 8:30 AM- 12 PM and afternoon shifts from 12:30 PM- 3 PM. You can sign up for one shift or both to spend the whole day with our students!

Interested volunteers need to complete our volunteer application. All volunteers are required to complete MinistrySafe Sexual Abuse Awareness training and an online volunteer orientation. Volunteers over 18 years old must complete a background check.

Everybody's Christmas

It's that time of year again as we prepare for our Everybody's Christmas celebration! We will welcome hundreds of people experiencing homelessness, food insecurity and people who have been recently incarcerated for a Christmas celebration including a coat, gift bag, hot seated meal, worship and more! Help us start collecting coats by bringing your gently used or new coats to the church. We need coats for adults and kids, but especially extra large coats. And sign up today to volunteer at Everybody's Christmas on December 22!

Place your donations in the blue bins at Entrance A or use the button below to order coats from Amazon and have them delivered to the church.
