I served alongside my wife as Co-Director of Youth and Young Adults at Grace Community United Methodist Church in Shreveport, Louisiana. I am serving in my 17th year of full-time student ministry.
We learned about Lovers Lane by our connection through mission in Haiti as my wife, Sarah, met Pastor Kay Eck. God along with Pastor Stan came knocking on our door and hearts to serve the students and families of Lovers Lane and Dallas, Texas.
To pour into the lives of young people and disciple them in Christ and see them connect, grow and go out and serve God in their lives is the most rewarding work that I can do. I get to be a part of what God is doing in the lives of his people.
Worked as Youth Director in Louisiana, served as Mission Team Coordinator in Haiti (for United Methodist Mission Teams)
It initially began when I met the Haiti Mission team from Lovers Lane in 2013… then when learning more about Lovers Lane, the diverse makeup of the congregation, the focus on missions, the willingness to push the leading edge of ministry, and the commitment to “loving ALL people into relationship with Jesus Christ!”
I treasure the opportunity to serve with students and their families, to walk this journey of faith with them while helping them recognize their gifts, and being part of a team that surrounds teenagers in love.
I grew up in western Oklahoma and then Oklahoma City. After high school, I studied marketing and management at Oklahoma City University. While in college, I worked as an event coordinator for the Civic Center Music Hall in downtown Oklahoma City. I have served with The United Methodist Church my entire life before responding to my call to pursue ordained ministry as an elder. My call has led me to the Perkins School of Theology where I am working towards my Masters of Divinity.
The mission of the church and the diversity of the people in the congregation.
I have the wonderful opportunity to help our students form and grow in their relationships with Jesus Christ. I also have the opportunity to help students form relationships with all people in this faith community. What I love about students is that they have a deep desire to learn and grow in their faith. It brings me great joy to teach students how to dig deeper into their own faith journey while empowering them to be leaders in the church!
