Dear Church Family,
We’ve updated our policies and procedures around Covid-19, masks, social distancing, etc. based on many internal discussions and guidance from health officials and CDC recommendations.
Updated Covid-19 Policies/Procedures as of 5/20/21
Masks are now optional for adults on campus who are fully vaccinated. We strongly encourage all those who are not vaccinated to continue wearing masks while on campus. Volunteers and staff working with kids and students will be expected to wear masks (and be fully vaccinated), as our children up to 12 years old do not have the opportunity to be vaccinated at this time. Children through high school who are not vaccinated are strongly encouraged to wear masks when activities are conducted indoors. Children in our summer camps, VBS, and Sunday morning programming will be placed in “pods” as often as possible. In the event that a child receives a positive Covid-19 test, the whole pod will be quarantined for 14 days. Children do not have to wear masks for events and activities that are held outdoors.
Singing, while unmasked, will be allowed in our worship venues. The Sanctuary Choir, returning June 6, will sing with special singing masks from the balcony of the Sanctuary. We will continue to practice social distancing in all worship services. We will plan to return 8:15 am Traditional worship to Shipp Chapel the Sunday after Labor Day.
Weddings held on our campus will be opened to maximum capacity seating, as this generally included people from the community who are not members (more outside-focused). Funerals will continue to be socially distanced, like worship services (as this is more inside-focused). The campus will be open for events beginning in June and will be open to maximum capacity.
Groups and classes can meet without masks, but we encourage continued social distancing through the summer. We expect that groups and classes can return to their primary meeting spaces in June. Food and beverage are allowed for classes, groups, and outside events (given that our hospitality team has been consulted about the safety procedures needed, specifically from outside catering).
Cleaning and sanitation of the campus will continue. Hand sanitizing stations will continue to be available across the campus. All persons entering the LLUMC campus will be asked to come in through Entrance A.
