In 2013, we will be offering three international mission trip experience options for Lovers Lane adults.
Haiti - May 4-11, approximate cost, $1400 (trip leader, Kay DeBlance)
The purpose of this trip will be to continue rebuild efforts following the massive earthquake of 2010. We will work with United Methodist Volunteers in Mission to rebuild a church in Haiti outside of Port-au-Prince. We will engage with the local community, do construction, a daily vacation bible school, and have the opportunity immerse ourselves in the culture of Haiti. This is very rugged trip, often spending the majority of time without running water or electricity. Persons desiring to travel to Haiti need to be of good health and very flexible. 10 people max per team.
Zimbabwe - June 9-23, approximate cost, $3500 (trip leader, Chris Chikoore)
Participants will have the opportunity to travel for these two weeks with Pastor Chris Chikoore to his homeland to conduct a sports soccer clinic for children in need in the village of Masvingo, Zimbabwe. Come experience the beauty and hospitality of African culture, as well as help to spread the good news of Jesus Christ to those in need. There is also an option to travel to Victoria Falls while in Zimbabwe. 10 people max per team.
Belize - July 27-August 2, approximate cost, $1600 (trip leader, Kay DeBlance)
This mission team will travel to Belize, an English speaking, Central American country that is impoverished and in need of teams to partner with local congregations to bring the hope of Jesus Christ. We will work with a local church and pastor in various ministries that we choose, including construction, orphan ministry, medical, sports, etc. We will stay in a modest hotel and worship with the local congregation. The last day will be spent snorkeling on Caye Caulker. 20 people max per team.
There will be an international missions team meeting on MONDAY, NOVEMBER 26th, 2012 at 6:30pm in CFC215. If you're praying about one of these trips, please attend this meeting!
