Senior Adults
The Senior Adult Ministry offers balanced opportunities for Senior Adults to enjoy recreational, educational and service/outreach activities. The Senior Adult board, with 25-30 active members, plans day-trips for Lovers Lane Seniors to interesting Dallas and metroplex locations. Trips have included a visit to the Kimbell Art Museum in Ft. Worth, the Old Red Courthouse Museum, and the Gaither Homecoming concert – all good times for fellowship and fun. Volunteers serving this ministry rearrange the Sanctuary flowers each Monday for distribution to church members in local hospitals and nursing care centers. In the fall, college boxes are prepared and mailed to our college students, full of “goodies” for the students to enjoy. Annually, Senior Adults arrange flu shots for the congregation. Other events include: a “Tour of Dallas with Rose Mary Rumbley” and co-hosting the “Homecoming Dance – A Trip Down Lovers Lane” with the Youth Ministry. In addition, the Senior Adult Ministry sponsors “Body Recall” (an exercise program for adults age 60 and over), noon worship services on Ash Wednesday and Good Friday, and provides support to “The Shepherd’s Center of North Dallas.”
