Lovers Lane Deaf Ministry
We are the Deaf Ministry of Lovers Lane United Methodist Church which welcomes all, Deaf, hard of hearing, and hearing alike. We are a signing community of Christian believers. Our vision is “to share God’s love and grace with the d/Deaf community near and far.” Through an active ministry, we encourage spiritual growth and leadership in the Deaf community.
Our Deaf Fellowship meets Sundays at the Christ Family Center (northwest side of campus) in room 103-105, starting at 9:00 a.m. for greeting one another. At 9:20 a.m. we start our Bible study/worship with prayers, testimonies and poems in American Sign Language, ending at 10:30 a.m. We provide voice interpreting for our hearing friends and families of the Deaf. At 10:50 a.m. we offer ASL interpretation in the traditional worship in the Sanctuary (east side of campus) which is also captioned.
We also offer life groups, retreats, and mission programs locally and globally. Additionally, we have a Sign Choir, Pastoral Care, Weddings, and Funerals. We also partner with the Deaf Education program of the Dallas Independent School District in providing American Sign Language classes.
