Mission: We are committed to being a praying church that offers a variety of ways in which to participate in and also receive the power and healing found in the spiritual practice of prayer.

Vision: Lovers Lane United Methodist Church will be known as a praying church. Every member will recognize the power and healing that comes through this relationship with God. We will instruct, equip and support others in the spiritual practice and priority of prayer in our daily lives.

Intercessory Prayer: Prayer requests are prayed over by the pastors and a committed team of praying volunteers. Cards are available in all of the worship services or by calling 214-706-9525

Knit Purl Pray: The “Prayer Shawl” ministry offers those in illness, crisis, bereavement or military service a tangible way of feeling they are wrapped in love and covered in prayer. We meet every Wednesday from 11:30 until 1:00 in the Pastor’s Beginnings room to knit and crochet prayer shawls and prayer patches. As we knit we pray for those who will receive one of these labors of love. No experience required. All are welcome.

Lent and Advent Activities: This year we will offer devotional guides to help us fully enter the seasons of Advent and Lent. The devotions will come from members of our church family and staff and the women in the Dawson jail.

Quiet Prayer Space: Located in the front right corner of the Shipp Chapel. Open daily from 7a.m. until 10:00p.m. Light a candle, listen to the water, and find rest for your soul.

Renew Contemplative Worship with Holy Communion: Every Wednesday from 5:45-6:30 in Shipp Chapel. Take time out in your busy week to find refreshment and renewal through this quiet service. Join us for “Renew Repast” a time of food and fellowship on the first Wednesday of the month immediately following the Renew service.

Retreats: Scheduled throughout the year. Please check our calendar for regular updates.

Staff Chapel: Join us for worship and Holy Communion the first Tuesday of every month. 11:30-12:30 Shipp Chapel.
