The Congregational Care Ministry provides compassionate, caring concern through personal contact with members of the church family who have special needs for spiritual support. This care ministry reaches out to people who are experiencing personal or extended family illnesses that require hospital care or long-term follow-up, to those who have lost a loved one, to the homebound and to those in nursing facilities. There are many ways to serve and support this ministry:

• The Heart Team – visits those who are in local area hospitals
• Heart Strings – cares for the homebound and those in nursing care facilities
• Bereavement Care – supports those who have lost a loved one
• 90+ Birthdays – provides celebration parties and gifts for members on their “90+” birthdays
• Special Delivery – delivers UMW “Sew N’ Sew” hand-crocheted blankets & other gifts to newborns, their big brother/s and sister/s, and their parents 
• Funerals and Memorial Services – the clergy and congregational care staff provide pastoral care for the family, conduct services, print memorial bulletins, and coordinate flowers and arrangements for family receptions at the church.

Congregational Care is a ministry for all believers, and here at Lovers Lane, it is supported by several hundred volunteers. More help and support are always welcome. Come if you need care and comfort; and come if you can give care and comfort.
