Beginnings Class Outline

 

First Week -   

To begin, we will explore our understanding of God.  We will learn the significant and unique understanding of the Christian faith that God is the Trinity: Father-Son-Holy Spirit. We will also discuss and learn the meanings of being “created in the image of God”, of our role here on earth, and of the love that God has for humanity. 

Second Week -
 

Jesus and the Holy Spirit rule the day in our second class. Whether you were raised as Christian from birth or you are new to the faith:  come, listen, and take part in the class discussion. Who is Jesus? What is the implication when the church teaches that Jesus of Nazareth is the “Word” of God? Who is the Holy Spirit? What does it mean to “live under the guidance” of the Holy Spirit?

Third Week - 

This week we will learn about the Church of Jesus Christ, and the meaning of a people who are called to be “salt to the earth” and “light of the world”.  We will explore the life of the church in the book of Acts and what it means to be the church in our time, the meaning of baptism and the Lord’s Supper. 

 

Fourth Week -
 
Finally, we will explore the DNA of Lovers Lane and our life together as a church in ministry and in “service” to the world. We definitely have a place for you!  Come and join many others on a journey of faith. No one can afford not to explore what God has in store for us as we seek to grow toward spiritual maturity.
